Solar LRT - Licensed Renewable Technician

Neil Kelly Co., a family-owned residential remodeling contractor, has an immediate opening for a Journey-Level Limited Renewable Technician in our N. Portland office. The Limited Renewable Technician (LRT) is responsible for installation and design of residential and commercial PV Solar Systems. The LRT reports directly to the Solar Project Manager who reports to the General Manger of the Solar Division.

Essential Functions:

Consultation, design and installation of PV solar systems.
Site surveys and pre-installation walk-thru.
Set-up and maintain safe worksites.
Work with clients to achieve their goals.
Provide guidance and on-the-job training for apprentices.
Support lead electrician in the installation of solar electric systems. Provide expertise on older PV systems.
Shop / Vehicle maintenance and inventory.
Solar electric service, including on-site estimates, completion of work and collections of balance due.
Pulling inventory for each installation job.
Pre-assemble job components in the warehouse prior to starting a job.
Layout and assembly of solar modules / array and mounting hardware.
Mechanical / structural mounting of racking, modules and electrical equipment.
Completing all documentation for completed installations.
Additional duties required as needed.

Skills and Qualifications:

A minimum of 3 years' Limited Resource Technician experience
Must have good interpersonal skills and be customer service orientated.
Must be a team player, be dependable able to perform high quality work.
Must speak, read, and understand English and be competent in construction math.
This physical exertion will include but will not be limited to: carrying, lifting, climbing, crawling, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, and hauling. Each will be expected to lift, on a regular basis, between 50 to 75 pounds. Job site situations vary greatly

The Neil KellyLimited Renewable Technicianprovides their own vehicle and must have license and provide proof of insurance. This position receives mileage and cell phone reimbursement.
